Prep & Injection Guide

Everything you need to know about storing, reconstituting, and administering peptide compounds safely. For in vitro research purposes only.

Step 1

Peptide Storage

Peptides are fragile and require stable conditions to retain potency. Key factors affecting stability:

  • Temperature fluctuations accelerate degradation
  • Multiple freeze/thaw cycles rapidly reduce efficacy
  • Humidity and moisture cause crystal formation
  • Light exposure degrades peptide bonds
  • Mechanical shock causes aggregation and particle formation
Storage Guidelines Lyophilized (unreconstituted):
Room temp: up to 60 days (cool, dark, dry)
Refrigerator: up to 1 year
Freezer: 2โ€“3 years

Reconstituted:
Refrigerator: 60โ€“90 days most peptides
AOD-9604 & NAD+: 30โ€“45 days only

Never store in refrigerator door โ€” agitation degrades peptides. Do not store Lipo-C in refrigerator.
What You Need Use an opaque, airtight container. If not opaque, wrap vials in foil. Add silica gel desiccant packets to absorb moisture. Available on Amazon (~$6 for 60-pack).
Step 2

Supplies Needed

  • Alcohol prep pads
  • Bacteriostatic (BAC) water
  • Insulin syringes (see syringe guide below)
  • Optional: 22โ€“23 gauge 3mL syringe for reconstitution
  • Optional: Opaque peptide storage container with desiccant packets
Syringe Guide 30-unit (0.3mL) syringe โ€” use for single-digit unit doses (1โ€“9 units). Each tick = 1 unit. Most accurate for small doses.

50-unit (0.5mL) syringe โ€” suitable for doses under 10 units. Each tick = 1 unit.

100-unit (1mL) syringe โ€” use for doses over 10 units. Each tick = 2 units. Cannot accurately measure single-unit doses.

Needle gauge: 29โ€“31 gauge for dosing. 27 gauge for reconstitution.

Needle length: 5/16" (8mm) or 1/2" (12mm) for subcutaneous. 1/2" for intramuscular.
Syringes available without prescription at Amazon.com or ADWDiabetes.com
Step 3

Reconstitution

  1. Remove plastic cap from peptide vial and BAC water vial
  2. Clean the rubber top of both vials with an alcohol prep pad
  3. Insert reconstitution syringe into BAC water, invert, and draw the required amount
  4. Insert water-filled syringe into peptide vial and slowly depress the plunger โ€” let water run down the inside wall of the vial, not directly onto the powder
  5. Remove syringe, cap, and dispose
  6. Gently roll the vial between your palms to mix โ€” do NOT shake
  7. Allow to sit 15โ€“30 minutes for complete dissolution
  8. Peptide is ready. Store per guidelines and roll gently before each use
Important Notes Never shake the vial โ€” this damages the peptide structure. Only reconstitute one vial at a time. Store remaining lyophilized vials as directed. For long-term freezer storage of reconstituted peptides, use a pH 5โ€“6 buffer solution instead of BAC water, and freeze only once.
Step 4A

Subcutaneous Injection

  1. Clean vial top with alcohol prep pad
  2. Remove needle and plunger caps from syringe
  3. Insert needle into vial center, invert, and draw your dose. If slow to fill, pull plunger back to create air pressure, reinsert, and depress plunger to push air in โ€” fluid will fill faster
  4. Recap syringe and set on clean surface
  5. Clean the injection site with alcohol prep pad
  6. Pinch the skin/fat at the site and lift away from the body
  7. Quickly insert needle fully at the pinched site
  8. Slowly depress the plunger completely
  9. Wait a few seconds, then remove and dispose of syringe
  10. Rub injection site through your shirt for 1 minute to aid absorption
  11. Return peptide to refrigerator immediately
Best Subcutaneous Sites Abdomen (most common) ยท Outer thigh ยท Love handles ยท Upper buttock ยท Always rotate sites โ€” never inject the same spot twice in a row
Step 4B

Intramuscular Injection

  1. Clean vial top with alcohol prep pad
  2. Remove caps from needle and plunger
  3. Insert needle into vial, invert, and draw dose
  4. Remove syringe from vial. Cap needle if surface not sanitized
  5. Clean injection site with alcohol prep pad
  6. Quickly push syringe through skin and into muscle
  7. Slowly depress plunger completely
  8. Wait a few seconds before removing syringe
  9. Rub injection site through your shirt for 1 minute to aid absorption
  10. Return peptide to refrigerator immediately
Best Intramuscular Sites Vastus lateralis (outer quadricep) ยท Ventrogluteal (hip) ยท Deltoid (shoulder) โ€” use 1/2" needle for IM. Always rotate sites between injections.
